If I remember correctly HP has released a series of notebooks with the IR-LEDs and sensors built into the palm rest. I remember that during their peak time of web-PR (somewhen around mid 2012 to 2013) they raised some money from investors and released the product to their kickstarter backers.įrom there on they pretty much pivoted their business from providing the hardware (that little silver puck) to licensing their technology to other OEMs. edit: I have just created /r/BetterTouchTool which can be used for any questions or issues you have or things you want to share. (Version 0.9999 now has the first Force Touch support and I added some basic Force Touch gestures). Additionally the Force Touch Trackpads are really cool and there are many opportunities to improve existing and create new gestures for those trackpads. In general my highest priority currently is to make BTT more stable and fix remaining crashes/bugs. Is there something that you are currently missing in BTT?ĭo you have any other suggestions or ideas for BTT? Should I focus on improving existing gestures etc., or on adding new stuff? Maybe I should publish some documentation about how to write plugins for BTT? There are also other things like MYO that would be cool, but would also be a lot of work to support well. The Leap support in BTT is pretty outdated and I would have to update it quite a bit… This makes it more important for me to focus on what’s important.ĭo you think I should remove Leap Motion support from BTT? Is anybody still using the Leap? As you may have noticed I don’t have as much time for BetterTouchTool as a few years ago during my studies (got a real job now and keep BTT as a side project -)). This is why I would like to get your input. ![]() I’m the developer of BTT and am currently planning the next steps for BetterTouchTool. I’m posting here because I noticed that many BetterTouchTool users are in /r/apple. ![]() This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc.
